Shoes
are more than just an item of clothing. As footwear designer
Stuart Weitzman says "Every women has a conscious or
subconscious desire to feel romantic", and a new pair
of shoes offers a fresh start, a promise of romance and excitement.
They may not cure a broken heart or soothe a tension headache,
but they may at least help chase away the blues!
American
women are well known for their love affair with shoes, in
fact the average American women owns 30 pairs, and the passionate
collectors own in the hundreds. And while comfort and practicality
are important, often fashion and style lead us to purchase
footwear that doesn't quite fit like a glove. But as clothing
designer Diane von Furstenberg points out, when you find that
drop-dead gorgeous pair "You look down at your feet and
wink at yourself"!
